MAYVILLE — A November trial date has been set for a man charged in the November 2017 stabbing death of a Frewsburg man.

Tavion L. Turner, 20, is set to go to trial beginning Nov. 12 on a charge of second-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Dyllan Ownbey. He was indicted by a Chautauqua County grand jury in May.

Turner is being represented by Chautauqua County Public Defender Ned Barone. He has been held in the County Jail on $1 million cash bail.

Jamestown police in May announced the arrest of Turner for his involvement in the Nov. 28, 2017, homicide of Ownbey on Willard Street. Ownbey was rushed to UPMC Chautauqua hospital but pronounced dead.

According to Jamestown police, Ownbey was walking with Turner prior to the stabbing. Witnesses saw two people fighting near the intersection between Peterson and Eagle streets.
