CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPT.

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — Sheriff’s Department Navigation Deputy responded to the Sports Club Dock at Chautauqua Institution for a vessel that struck another vessel at 2:10 p.m. Thursday. Matthew G. Lockwood, 42, of 3206 Oliver St., Washington, D.C., was allegedly operating a vessel south through the docks when he hit a docked boat. Deputies report smelling alcohol on the boat and gave Lockwood standardized field sobriety tests that he allegedly failed. According to a police report, Lockwood had a .19 blood-alcohol content after a chemical test. He will be in Chautauqua Town Court later.

¯ DUNKIRK — A 58-year-old Dunkirk woman was taken to the Erie County Medical Cneter after she was hit by a firework lit by a neighbor on Bayshore Drive in DUnkirk. The investigation is ongoing. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies and Fredonia firefighters responded to the incident.

¯ POLAND — Jimmy C. Caceres, 32, of Warren was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and speeding in a 55 mile an hour zone at 11 p.m. Thursday on Route 62, Poland. Caceres will be in Poland Town Court later.

¯ IRVING — John H. Lemke, 46, of Silver Creek was charged with third-degree assault at 12:09 a.m. Friday after an incident on Iola Drive, Hanover. Lemke allegedly injured another person in the altercation. He will be in Hanover Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE

¯ Donald A. Myers Sr. was charged with petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief after allegedly stealing his neighbor’s license plates and throwing them in a dumpster in Bergman Park. Myers was taken to the Jamestown City Jail and held on bail.

¯ Tyler Skillman-Drake, 26, of Jamestown was charged with violating the Jamestown City Code for discharging an explosive firework at 4:51 p.m. Thursday. Jamestown Police officers and New York State Police working on a joint Operation GIVE detail responded to West Eighth Street and Lafayette STreet for a reported fireworks complaint. Officers report seeing Skillman-Drake deploy a mortar-style firework into the air which then exploded. He will be in Jamestown City Court later.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE

¯ Tiffany L. Klee, 25, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child at 4:14 p.m. Wednesday after allegedly stealing from the Lakewood Wal-Mart while she was with her young children. Klee will be in Busti Town Court later.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Dept.

¯ Betsy M. Lathrop, 34, of 131 William St., East Randolph, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree welfare fraud, both felony charges, at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Following an investigation into a complaint from the Cattaraugus County Social Services Department, it was found Lathrop allegedly received $1,097 in public assistance benefits to which she was not entitled by allegedly concealing and failing to report income. Lathrop turned herself in at the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Dept. and will be in Olean City Court later.
