Apple Butter Festival Scheduled For Oct. 10 WESTFIELD - The West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 E. Route 20, Westfield, will host its 12th annual Apple Butter Festival. On Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with old-fashioned kettle cooked apple butter available for a donation. There also will be more than 40 vendors offering various sale items including food vendors. The festival will take place rain or shine. DUNKIRK - The Common Council followed improper procedure in imposing a Battery Energy Storage System moratorium, Dunkirk Mayor Kate Wdowiasz stated in her veto message. Wdowiasz wrote that she intends to share her own draft for a moratorium, following “procedural steps required for its lawful adoption,” such as adopting a local law. NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James recently joined a bipartisan group of 47 other attorneys general in urging eligible consumers to submit claims for compensation from generic drug manufacturers that illegally colluded to raise prices. SUNY enrollment figures show mixed results

FREDONIA - The State University at Fredonia’s enrollment decline continues, though the pace of the decline has eased for a third straight September. Enrollment vice president Kathryn Kendall offered a report at the first University Council meeting of the 2026-27 school year, which showed a student body at 3,108 students as of Sept. 21. That’s down 76 students from the September 2025 “head count” of campus enrollees. The count was 3,201 in September 2024, and 3,236 in September 2023.
