Warrant Issued For Woman Tied To Stabbing
A 26-year-old Dunkirk woman is the main suspect wanted by city police in connection with the recent stabbing death of a 15-year-old girl.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s warrant list on the official website, Ashlyann M. Lopez is wanted by the Dunkirk Police Department for charges of manslaughter with intent to cause serious physical injury.
Lopez’s last known address is listed as 96 S. Roberts Road, Dunkirk. She is listed on the website as 5-foot-4 inches tall, 160 pounds with hazel eyes.
Lopez has been the key suspect since the incident on May 15 on Lincoln Avenue that drew a crowd of at least 50 onlookers. Video of the 10-second confrontation appears to show Lopez making a stabbing motion toward the girl toward the end of the tussle.
This is not Lopez’s first run in with the law. In 2014, investigators and members of the Jamestown Police Department SWAT team executed three search warrants at three separate apartments in a building located at 14 W. Ninth St., in Jamestown.
Inside, a quantity of heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash were seized.
Lopez, who was 20 at the time, was among those charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Anyone with information regarding Lopez or the incident can call the department at 366-2266 or they can leave an anonymous tip on the department’s tip line at 363-0313. All calls will be kept confidential.
