Cocaine, 15 Long Guns Found In Multi-Agency Raid

Tyler C. Anderson

ELLICOTT — More than 2 ounces of cocaine, 4 pounds of marijuana and 15 long guns were discovered at an Ellicott residence Friday, part of an “ongoing investigation into the sales and trafficking of narcotics in the Jamestown area,” city police announced Saturday morning.

Charged was 27-year-old Tyler C. Anderson of 2256 Willard St. Ext. after a search warrant was executed by members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and FBI. Anderson was taken into custody around 2:25 p.m. as he was walking his dog, Jamestown police said in a press release announcing three separate raids by the agencies Friday.

After entering the residence, police found 58 grams of cocaine, 4 pounds of marijuana and 15 long guns. Because of a prior conviction, police said Anderson was not permitted to own the guns.

Anderson was taken into custody and charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, obstructing governmental administration, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

He was scheduled to be arraigned in Jamestown City Court on Saturday and in Elliott Town Court at a later date. Police said federal charges are pending as well.
