Three Pennsylvania residents are facing charges after methamphetamine was discovered in a traffic stop Wednesday in the city.

Kyle R. Hedderick, 26, of Union City, Pa., Lee D. Palmer, 27, of Elgin, Pa., and Emily E. Shultz, 19, of Corry, Pa., were all charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies, as well as second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Jamestown police stopped a vehicle Wednesday around 3 a.m. at the intersection of East Second and East Fourth streets for a traffic violation. Dispatch informed the officers that the operator of the vehicle — identified as Hedderick — had a warrant out for his arrest in Erie County, Pa., for violating probation.

While taking Hedderick into custody, officers noticed a container of suspected meth inside the vehicle. Upon further investigation, the officers found a pot of meth sticking out from the front passenger seat.

The other two passengers, Palmer and Schultz, were asked to exit the vehicle.

After securing the scene, the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement teams were called for assistance. A search warrant was secured, and upon further investigation, 4.3 grams of methamphetamine, 4 ounces of meth oil and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.

All three were taken to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.
