Chamber To Host State Of County Speech

Chautauqua County Executive Paul M. Wendel Jr. will deliver his 2026 State of the County Address on Tuesday, April 21, though not before the Chautauqua County Legislature as has been tradition for decades. This year, Wendel will host the speech in partnership with the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce at a breakfast meeting at 8 a.m. April 21 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Jamestown. A site plan review of a proposed Battery Energy Storage System, and approval of an amended site plan for Brooks Memorial Hospital, are on tap. Warren Woman Charged After Driving In Stolen Vehicle

A Warren woman has been charged after allegedly driving a stolen vehicle on Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood. Jessica M. Wolfgang, 45, of Warren was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation at 1:57 p.m. Monday. According to a police report, deputies pulled the vehicle over after it had been reported stolen out of the city of Jamestown. Wolfgang was issued appearance tickets to be in Busti Town Court later. Fredonia Mayor Sounds New Warnings Over Water Situation

Fredonia Mayor Michael Ferguson said Fredonia “will be a ghost town” unless a plan to connect with the North County Water District moves forward. Ferguson’s comment came at the end of a Board of Trustees workshop conversation about an engineering agreement for the connection plan.
