CLYMER — The WeeCare Christian Preschool in Clymer is set to be holding a Valentine’s Day Fundraiser later this month.

The preschool — located in the Abbe Reformed Church, 595 Clymer-Sherman Road — serves families in the area with children ages three to five. Families come from Clymer, Panama, Sherman, Corry and Northeast. There are currently 13 families involved in the preschool and this is their 38th year of running. The preschool focuses on learning about God’s love and social-emotional learning through play. They also do a daily letter and number recognition activity.

On Feb 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., or until the food runs out, WeeCare Christian Preschool will be having a “Sweetheart Italian Dinner” offering spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, drinks and dessert. All proceeds will go towards the preschool and the only price is donations.

“We rely heavily on fundraisers and donations and spaghetti dinners tend to do well in our area, so it was decided to do a special Sweetheart Italian Dinner on Valentine’s Day for our community,” preschool teacher Michelle DeLellis said. “All proceeds from this event will benefit the Wee Care Christian Preschool. This is a family-friendly, dine-in event so bring your whole family and share the love. Price is by donation and you get spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, drinks and dessert.”

There is an option to still donate to the preschool, even if someone is unable to attend the Valentine’s Day event. Donations can be sent to Abbe Reformed Church c/o Wee Care Christian Preschool PO Box 249 Clymer, NY 14724 Attn: Anndrea Dunnewold, Wee Care Co-Chairperson/Treasurer.

For those interested in enrolling their children in preschool, there are still spots available.

“We currently offer morning preschool from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or afternoon preschool from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays,” DeLellis said. “There is also an option of Kindergarten Prep Class available to those students that turn four by Dec 1 which runs on Friday mornings from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Enrollment is not currently full.”
