WARREN, Pa. — A local group is Haulin’ for Hailie.

Warren County native Hailie Klark was diagnosed this summer with a grade IV diffuse midline gliomas brain tumor.

“After she was initially diagnosed, she had to go to Pittsburgh,” said Wendy MacQueen, who has organized the Haulin’ for Hailie Dice Run. “They removed the majority of the tumor but they couldn’t remove it all because it is right behind and wrapped around the pituitary gland. Some of it was inoperable.”

“After that, she was referred to Philadelphia,” MacQueen said. “She is down there to receive additional treatments and clinical trial treatments.”

That is putting a financial strain on her and her family, including her parents, Jamie Klark and Shannon Moore, who both work at small Warren County businesses.

The Dice Run is intended to ease that strain.

“Nobody is prepared for this financially,” MacQueen said. “Our hope with this benefit is that we can help support them, so this does not interrupt her life. Her parents have business to run.”

Participants may select from two donation levels.

For those who make the $60 Package B donation, breakfast at Bent Run and lunch at Tack’s Inn are included, as well as a T-shirt and a dice hand, which are included in the $35 Package A donation.

There is a $10 discount off of both packages for those who sign up by Friday, July 15.

A registration form and payment details can be found on the Haulin’ for Hailie Benefit Facebook page.

The Dice Run starts promptly at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23. It’s called the “Motorcycle and Classic Car Dice Run,” but “anything with wheels” is welcome, MacQueen said.

“It kicks off at Bent Run,” she said. “Registration from 9 to 10:45 a.m.”

“Our boys in blue will be joining us for breakfast,” MacQueen said.

Betsy Schnell will sing the National Anthem and Grace United Methodist Church Pastor William Beatty will give the blessing for the riders and for Hailie.

As the run rolls out of Bent Run, it will be escorted through Warren by City of Warren Police, MacQueen said.

The first stop is at Wolf Run Marina. After that, it’s on to Tack’s Inn in Lewis Run, Mad Dog 159 in Kane, Cougar Bob’s in Kelletville, and the Warren Eagles Club, where festivities will start at 4 p.m.

Musical performances will be by JJ Darts, Alyssa Wismar, and Fred Leopard.

The public is welcome to a $10 buffet dinner following the run. There will be a variety of fund-raising events between 4 and 9 p.m. at the club.

“We’ve got some huge drawings and auctions,” MacQueen said. “Our community has pulled together in such a tremendous way.”

Among the items are a Bergara B14 HMR 6.5 Creedmoor rifle or $1,200 cash option, gift cards valued up to $500, and many more.

Starting at $3.50/week.
