Dunkirk Man Charged In Weekend Rollover

A 20-year-old Dunkirk man is facing a host of charges following a vehicle pursuit early Saturday in Jamestown.

Officers stopped a vehicle at 5:55 a.m. on Newland and Norwood avenues. While approaching, the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed leading police on a pursuit that ended on West Third Street and Mechanics Alley downtown when the vehicle struck multiple signs, poles and a tree before rolling over.

The driver, Kayin R. Odebralski, was taken into custody. Officers later located an illegally possessed loaded handgun, Fentanyl, a digital scale and cash.

The Dunkirk man is facing charges of third-degree unlawful fleeing police in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal contempt.

He was being held for arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
