Dept. Of Mental Hygiene Announces Dunkirk Director

The Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene has expanded its clinical leadership team with the hire of a new behavioral health clinic director for the Dunkirk location.

Krista Garland, a graduate of the University of Buffalo and the State University at Fredonia, will be bringing more than 20 years of experience with her into this role. With a proven background in behavioral health services, she has been a school social worker in Chautauqua and Erie counties and most recently worked at the Central New York Psychiatric Center.

“I look forward to connecting with my peers and colleagues to provide mental health and chemical dependency services to the members of our community,” said Garland. “I want to be sure that these services are easily accessible, delivered at a high standard and in a respectful manner.”

The county Department of Mental Hygiene has two behavioral health clinics in Chautauqua County with a south county location in Jamestown. Both clinics offer assistance to children, adults and families. The clinics offer a wide variety of services including the following:

¯ doctors, physicians assistants, and nurse practitioners on staff

¯ confidential & discreet assessment and evaluation

¯ individualized treatment plan and service delivery

¯ individual therapy

¯ family therapy

¯ group therapy customized for skill development

¯ psychiatric evaluation and medication management

¯ addiction medicine

¯ crisis response and intervention

¯ same day services

¯ referral services

¯ sliding fee scale
