Rollover Crash Sends 3 To Local Hospital
BUSTI — Three people were taken to the hospital following a rollover crash Monday afternoon.
The collision, according to the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, occurred at 3:10 p.m. at the intersection of Baker Street Extension and Howard Avenue in the town of Busti.
An investigation determined that the driver of a vehicle traveling south on Howard Avenue failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a westbound vehicle on Baker Street Extension.
The westbound vehicle, occupied by a married Jamestown couple, lost control following the collision and overturned before landing on its tires.
The couple, as well as a front seat passenger in the other vehicle, was transported to UPMC Chautauqua for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Lakewood-Busti police said.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, identified as a 56-year-old Russell, Pa., resident, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
Also responding to scene were firefighters from Busti, Celoron, Lakewood, Frewsburg and Kiantone. Chautauqua County EMS also assisted.
A portion of Baker Street Extension was closed to traffic due to the crash.
