City Man Found Huffing Charged

ALTOONA, Pa. — A Jamestown man is in Blair County Prison in Pennsylvania after he was allegedly spotted huffing duster in a Walmart parking lot.

Jeremy J. Brumfield, 37, was allegedly just waking up and in the passenger side of his Chevrolet pickup when Allegheny Township police officers showed up in the parking lot of Walmart on Plank Road about 4 a.m. Saturday for a report of a man huffing from a can in the truck, according to charges filed over the weekend.

Police said there were multiple cans of duster on the floor at Brumfield’s feet, and when he was told by officers that they had a report of someone seeing him huffing from a can, Brumfield allegedly admitted he had been huffing.

Officers allegedly found used and unused cans in the truck, including four cans of Onn brand electronics duster and one can of Sprayway brand glass cleaner.

Brumfield was just passing through the area on his way from Washington, D.C., police said. A large dog he had with him was taken to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, and his truck was towed from the scene.

Brumfield’s bail was set at $3,500 cash by Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller at his arraignment on six misdemeanor counts related to the huffing of solvents, and he was lodged in Blair County Prison. A preliminary is hearing scheduled for Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Steven Jackson.
