Drug Bust Nets Two In Salamanca

Two area residents face charges after a search warrant was served at a Salamanca home at 9:08 p.m. Thursday after a joint investigation by the Salamanca City Police Department, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Dept. and Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force.

Task force members report finding 16 grams of fentanyl with a street value of $1,600, two grams of methamphetamine, scales and packaging during their search of the home.

Lindsey D. Little, 27, of 61¢ Elm St., Salamanca, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a class D felony, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanour. Chrostopher T. DuPont, 31, of 305 Hill View Homes, Salamanca, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanour. Cordell D. Wheeler, 23, of 3 Green St., Randolph, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanour.

Little and DuPont were taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail and will be in Salamanca City Court later. Wheeler was released with an appearance ticket to be in Salamanca City Court later.

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force includes the New York State Police, Salamanca City Police, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Dept., Gowanda Police Dept. and Franklinville Village Police Dept. The task force was assisted in their search by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Dept. K-9 unit.
