As the Board of Public Utilities continues its work on installing its fiber internet, board members are talking about how to get current internet providers to take down some poles in areas where they have been doubled for a few years. Annually, the Jamestown Local Development Corporation provides an allocation of funds in their budget to the Jamestown Urban Renewal Agency as part of an agreement. New York Governor Kathy Hochul is looking to increase Temporary Municipal Assistance Funding by $100 million as a part of her 30-day amendments to the executive budget, and a resolution supporting this increase is up for discussion tonight by the Jamestown city council.
