Jamestown police are investigating a homicide on East Fourth Street. One person has been detained, according to a police report. The investigation began at 4:54 a.m. Friday at 314 W. Fourth St., Apt. 5, according to scanner reports. As of noon Friday, city police are still investigating the homicide, though the suspect is in custody and police say there is no known, specific, elevated risk to the public at this time. A Jamestown man has been sentenced for selling drugs that nearly killed a person. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced today that Bradley D. Knapp, 46, of Jamestown, who was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine, was sentenced to serve 8 years and one month in prison by U.S. District Judge Richard J. A Jamestown man faces charges after allegedly discarding a stolen gun near Love Elementary School while being chased by city police early Thursday morning.
