BUFFALO, N.Y. –U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced today that a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging Edward E. Leeper Jr. aka Edward E. Barnes Jr., 47, of Jamestown, with attempted sex trafficking, sex trafficking, kidnapping, aiding and abetting, distribution of fentanyl, and maintaining a drug involved premises, which carry a mandatory minimum penalty of 90 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison. City Man Charged After Assault With Baseball Bat

A Jamestown man is facing charges after an assault on Thanksgiving morning. Alec C. Pentz, 30, was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. At around 9:41 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department responded to a Northside address for a reported assault. A subsequent investigation determined that the suspect, Pentz, struck a victim at the scene with a baseball bat, causing the victim to sustain injuries. Pentz was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he was being held pending arraignment.
