City Man Dies In Falconer Street Accident

A Jamestown resident died Saturday after a car-pedestrian accident on Falconer Street near Bowen Street. Jamestown police reported Monday that officers responded to the scene at 6:08 p.m. Saturday on Falconer Street to find a man had been hit by a motor vehicle. Officers found Kendel R. Bell, 51, lying in the road, unresponsive. Officers tried to provide lifesaving measures until Jamestown firefighters and Alstar Ambulance EMTs arrived on scene. A 31-year-old city resident with a violent past and state parolee is facing more trouble after an incident Thursday evening. Jamestown police report Alvin J. Second-Floor Blaze Quelled By City Firefighters

Jamestown firefighters extinguished a blaze on the second floor of a 208 Charles St. residence. Upon arrival around 12:43 a.m. Friday, crews observed fire in second floor windows with smoke venting from the eves and attic. Crews quickly extinguished the fire after locating the blaze. No occupants or victims were located by firefighters at the scene. Jamestown Police Department assisted with traffic control and Alstar stood by at the scene.
