The National Weather Service has upgraded the winter storm watch to a warning from 7 a.m. Monday to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Heavy snow and blowing snow is expected. Total snow accumulations are likely to be around 10 to 20 inches. A Jamestown woman has been sentenced in the theft of mail. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced Friday that Anita D. Miller, 42, who was convicted of theft of mail by a postal employee and delay of mail by a postal employee, is to serve three years’ probation and 100 community service by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. City Man Dies In Falconer Street Accident

A Jamestown resident died Saturday after a car-pedestrian accident on Falconer Street near Bowen Street. Jamestown police reported Monday that officers responded to the scene at 6:08 p.m. Saturday on Falconer Street to find a man had been hit by a motor vehicle. Officers found Kendel R. Bell, 51, lying in the road, unresponsive. Officers tried to provide lifesaving measures until Jamestown firefighters and Alstar Ambulance EMTs arrived on scene.
