The Chautauqua County Department of Health on Friday reported 24 new cases of COVID-19, continuing a wave of new cases that began the first of the month and built up each subsequent week.

To date, there have been 1,629 total confirmed cases of the virus within the county. Only new cases were reported Friday by the county Health Department, with a full report to be provided Monday.

Meanwhile, Cattaraugus County reported 24 new COVID-19 cases on Thanksgiving. To date, Cattaraugus has seen 1,027 total confirmed cases.
