Man Charged After Shots Fired At City Home
No one was injured after several shots were fired at a Jamestown home early Monday.
Officers were called around 12:50 a.m. to a disturbance on East Seventh Street, near Lincoln Street. An investigation found that a red sedan drove up to the residence — reportedly occupied by several adults and young children — when a passenger in the vehicle fired several shots.
The vehicle involved in the shooting was later found on Columbia Avenue in the city. The person who police believe was involved — 20-year-old Stephon L. Thomas — was inside a nearby home and was eventually taken into custody.
Thomas was jailed on charges of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment. He was being held for arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
Investigators believe the incident is linked to a Sept. 30 shooting at 52 Bowen St. That investigation remains ongoing and charges are pending in the case, Jamestown police said in a news release.
