A 7-year-old Warren County boy was killed after he was accidentally run over by a pickup truck Saturday night.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police in Warren, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. at the Tidioute Scenic Overlook in Limestone Township.

Police said 33-year-old Justin E. Sweitzer of Tidioute, Pa., was leaving the scenic overlook with the boy. Sweitzer was reportedly “playing” with the 7-year-old by “speeding up as he was trying to open the vehicle door.”

The boy reportedly fell and was run over by the 2009 Chevy Silverado. He was taken to Warren General Hospital where he was pronounced dead, the PA State Police said.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police did not announce any charges.
