Cornell Cooperative Extension To Host Seminars
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s Agriculture Program will offer a free educational winter webinar series focused on environmental and agricultural education.
The free series offers practical tips and fresh insights for gardeners, landowners, and nature enthusiasts of all levels. Those interested in attending one or all of these webinars can register by visiting chautauqua.cce.cornell.edu or emailing Eliza Hensel at emh275@cornell.edu.
Topics include:
– Backyard Composting on Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. Participants will learn about composting basics, different bin styles and methods, and how to utilize compost to optimize their soil health.
– Seed Starting and Garden Planning on Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 6 to 7 p.m. Learn about indoor seed starting methods, what varieties to start ahead of time, designing a garden plan and how to pair plants wisely.
– Learn to Grow When Space is Low on Tuesday, Feb. 10, from 6 to 7 p.m. Discover tips and tricks for growing in containers and small spaces like patios, window boxes, and raised beds.
– Invasive Species ID and Management on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 6 to 7 p.m. Catch up on what local invasive species to keep an eye out for, and how to manage them should they come into a garden or yard.
– Woodlot Wisdom on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 6 to 7 p.m. Learn best practices on maintaining their wooded lot and keeping trees happy and healthy on a property.
