LAKEWOOD – The NY Chapter 4 of the Blue Star Mothers of America along with the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club will once host their annual Blue Wing Fest on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, 433 E. Terrace Ave., Lakewood.

Brian Nelson of the Falconer Vac Shop has donated a poly-wood balcony settee valued at $800 to be given away. .

Proceeds from the Blue Wing Fest will be used for the Blue Star Mothers’ annual Christmas care package drive, sending Christmas cheer to U.S. deployed troops all around the world. Each year the local chapter of the Blue Star Mothers send more than 1,200 care packages to deployed troops, most of which are at Christmastime. Postage alone for these packages is more than $25,000, and the money is raised through local fundraisers like the Blue Wing Fest.

Tickets for both the poly-wood furniture and for the Wing Fest are available at the door for the event, or by emailing bluestarmothersny4@yahoo.com. The Wing Fest will feature multiple flavors of chicken wings to sample, basket raffles, 50/50 drawings, the Buffalo Bills game on large-screen TVs, and a cash bar. Wing Fest tickets are $20 per person, and furniture tickets are $10 each or three for $20.
