Ss. Peter and Paul Church will play host to a special Community Music Project concert featuring the 80-voice choir of the CMP Chorale and the Chautauqua Chamber Singers directed by Rebecca Ryan and accompanied by Charles Johnson at 4 p.m. Sunday.

The choral concert will be honoring legendary composer Alice Parker. The event will not only celebrate Parker’s significant contributions to choral music but will also showcase the timeless works of renowned singer-songwriters Carole King and Carly Simon.

Parker, known for her innovative arrangements and compositions, has left a mark on the choral music landscape. Her ability to weave traditional folk elements into modern choral settings has inspired generations of musicians. This concert aims to highlight her legacy while bringing together the community through the power of music.

The concert will feature a selection of Parker’s pieces, alongside a variety of beloved songs by Carole King and Carly Simon. Expect to hear King’s classics like “You’ve Got a Friend” and “I Feel the Earth Move”.

Admission to all Community Music Project concerts is free of charge with a good will offering collected. All money collected will be used to continue to bring free music events to the Jamestown area.
