Chicken Barbecue To Benefit Those On Autism Spectrum May 17

CELORON – A chicken barbecue fund-raiser to benefit people on the autism spectrum will be held Friday, May 17.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. at 18 Jones and Gifford Avenue, across the street from The Resource Center’s Michael J. Raymond Center. The event will run until 3 or until the 300 dinners have sold out, whichever occurs first.

The event is being organized by Filling the Gap, Inc., a Jamestown-based not-for-profit organization that supports The Resource Center’s mission of improving the lives of Chautauqua County residents with disabilities.

The barbecue, which is being put on by Weidner BBQ, costs $15. Each meal will include a half chicken, macaroni salad, baked beans, a dinner roll, and butter. What’s Poppin NY’s kettle corn bus also will be on hand.

Tickets are available at The Resource Center, 200 Dunham Ave.; at the Felice Corporate Center, 92 Fairmount Ave.; and at www.fillingthegap.net. Proceeds from the barbecue will benefit Filling the Gap’s annual Step Up for Autism event, which will take place September 25.
