Sheriff’s Office Implementing Wellness Program
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is implementing a new wellness program for all department members that encompasses eight dimensions of wellness including physical, occupational, social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, environmental and financial.
“Our goal is to get as many department members as possible involved as we feel it is a true benefit for everyone to work continuously on becoming the very best overall version of themselves, which in turn will allow them to better serve the public and keep our communities safe and secure,” the department said.
The Sheriff’s Office said its Wellness Team is working to put together monthly challenges that include one activity from each dimension that will be distributed to all department members. Anyone completing part or all of each of the monthly challenges will be entered into drawings at the end of each quarter as an “incentive” for their hard work. At the end of the year, the department will be drawing for a large grand prize for all who participated throughout the year.
“We will be partnering with Bradley Barmore and BMF Events to create an obstacle course challenge that will be open to all members of the Sheriff’s Office, other local police agencies, fire departments, and the public,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “Please keep an eye on BMF Events Facebook page for further details as plans are made.
“In addition to partnering with BMF Events, we are also working with local retailers and establishments throughout the County who have generously donated to the program. This generosity is very much appreciated as our program is funded solely through donations.
Individuals or businesses that would like to help incentivize members to “just keep going” toward the goal of becoming the best version of themselves can contact program co-coordinator Nikki Adams at 716-753-4909 or adams@sheriff.us or the Sheriff’s Office at 716-753-4235.
