SINCLAIRVILLE — Members and guests of the Valley Historical Society met at the Sinclairville ball park for the annual summer picnic meal and program. President Larry Barmore welcomed all, and everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal, provided by everyone. Barmore led all in the Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Following the meal, a treasure trove program was held, where many brought an item of old and discussed it. Susan W. Sipos brought an antique copper tea kettle. The tea kettle is from Sweden and the unique feature is that there was a hinged cover over the spout. Others participating included Evelyn Thorndike, Debbie Runge Meder, Barmore, secretary Sue Peacock, Victor and Kay Richardson, and treasurer John Sipos.

The Valley Historical Society will holds its annual history fair in Sinclairville on Saturday Sept. 10, all day. Some of the features include the pancake breakfast, pie contest, grand parade, car show, craft show, food stands, dancing, music, tours, buggy rides and conclude with fireworks at 9 p.m. The museum will be open all day for tours. All are welcome and there is no admission charge.

The Valley Historical Society was formed in 1977 by the late John and Ruth Smith, Rev. John Rough and Walter Waite. The museum was purchased one year later and has undergone multiple improvements since then. For more information on the Valley Historical Society, write to P.O. Box 1045, Sinclairville, NY 14782. New members always welcome.
