Introduction To Beekeeping Program Oct. 20

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s Agricultural Program will hold its fall 2021 L.E.A.F. workshop, Introduction to Beekeeping, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20.

The series is open the public.

The Introduction to Bee Keeping workshop will inform those interested of all they need to know to make an educated decision about how and if they want to start a hive of their own. The emphasis of the presentation will be informing potential beekeepers about what to expect, how to prepare and what is required of the beekeeper. Those thinking about starting a backyard beehive or who are curious about what’s involved with keeping bees may be interested in the class.

The class is designed for absolute beginners so, no prerequisite knowledge is required. The workshop will focus on natural beekeeping practices.

A variety of L.E.A.F. workshops are being held this fall at the Jamestown Community College Carnahan Center, 525 Falconer St., Jamestown. Workshops are $5 per person and early registration is requested. Visit www.chautauqua.cce.cornell.edu/LEAF2021 or call 664-9502, ext. 209 or email lpc33@cornell.edu to register. Masks are required and CDC COVID guidelines will be followed.
