Tranum Named To Roster Of Honor

Sarah Tranum, director of Jamestown Community College’s occupational therapy assistant program, was named to the American Occupational Therapy Association’s roster of honor recently.

The award recognizes occupational therapy assistants who through their knowledge, expertise, leadership, advocacy, and/or guidance have made a significant contribution over time to the profession with a measured impact on consumers of occupational therapy services and/or AOTA members.

Prior to becoming director of JCC’s OTA program in 2017, Tranum served as the program’s academic fieldwork coordinator for 17 years. She earned an associate’s degree at Erie Community College, a bachelor’s degree at the State University at Buffalo, and a master’s degree at Buffalo State College. She also holds a certificate in virtual classroom teaching.

Tranum has clinical experience in school-based and home health program as well as community integration for those with traumatic brain injuries.

She is vice president of the local chapter of AMBUCS, serves on the advisory board of the Chautauqua County Mental Health Association, and recently completed a term as the OTA representative to AOTA’s volunteer leadership development committee. She also serves as chair and campus governance leader of the JCC Faculty Association.
