Two JHS musicians, senior Dylan Lydell and junior Alyssa Shimmel, recently participated in the 2019 NYSSMA Conference All-State Festival. They performed among the best high school musicians in New York state and worked with world-renowned conductors for three days, culminating in a performance at the historic Eastman Theater in Rochester. Dylan and Alyssa were selected based on their NYSSMA solo scores. “Dylan and Alyssa are true representatives of our school and city,” said JHS Band Director Meghan Murray. “They have made us very proud and we congratulate them on their musical accomplishments.”
