LEON-A Leon man was charged Thursday after allegedly having inappropriate sexual contact with two juveniles over the course of several months. According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, the man is also the town of Leon’s fire chief.

Laurence E. Ellis, 42, was charged with third-degree felony criminal sexual act, two counts of forcible touching and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

He was arraigned in Cattaraugus County Court and will reappear there at a later date. He has been released on his own recognizance.
