Fenner Elementary Hosts Math Mania
The seventh annual Math Mania night took place recently at Fenner Elementary School. Students in grades UPK through five participated in fun math games developed by high school teacher Jon Anderson and his Math Club. Highlights of the evening included the explosion of the math cannon, remote control car races to solve math problems, building the tallest marshmallow structure, using iPads to build paper origami airplanes, a trivia game with a dance off, and many more activities. The kids were not the only ones learning about math that night. Miss Buccola, an A.I.S. teacher at Temple, spoke about Common Core Math terms. Mrs. Nutt, an A.I.S. teacher at Fenner, spoke to parents about educational math and reading websites that their child could use at home. The A.I.S. teachers at Temple and Fenner would like to thank Mr. Anderson, Falconer Math Club, Falconer teachers and staff, Falconer Elementary PTO and McDonald’s.
