Soil Health Field Day Planned In Corry

CORRY, Pa. – Soil Health Field Day will be held at Doud Hill Farms in Corry, Pa., on Sept. 23. The day will start at 10 a.m. at the Corry Rod and Gun Club with a presentation from Arthur Miller, member of Doud Hill Farm, on his experiences with no-till and cover crops. There will also be a presentation from Joel Myers, former NRCS State Agronomist and no-till farmer, as well as a rainfall simulator demonstration. The event continues in the afternoon at the farm for an exhibit of no-till and cover cropped fields, excavation under the surface to look at the positive impacts of good soil health and equipment demonstrations. There will be a $5 registration fee to help cover the cost of lunch. Registration deadline is Sept. 18. To learn more about the event or to register, contact the Penn Soil RC&D 814-726-1441.
