LAKEWOOD — An established Lakewood restaurant was recently recognized for its exceptional food service.
Davidson’s Family Restaurant, located at 398 E. Fairmount Ave., was recognized as “Distinguished Restaurant” by Sysco Foods. The restaurant was founded by Bob and Margrete Davidson in 1950, opening first as an ice cream shack that served sandwiches.
For the past 40 years, Ron Davidson and his wife, Linda, have kept the family tradition and a well-known establishment going. The restaurant has grown over the years to more than 50 employees.
Leslie Davidson Genareo, third-generation owner, expressed gratitude for the recognition of the restaurant’s efforts to give good service to the community.
”We’ve been in business for 67 years, so we obviously try to give exceptional service. That’s why I think we stay in business for so long,” she said. ”It means we try hard to keep our customers happy so they keep coming back. We appreciate all our customers in this community for being so loyal to us for so many years.”
Davidson’s Family Restaurant is known for its famous fish fry, selling more than three tons of fish a month. The restaurant offers everything from salads and sandwiches to seafood and chicken. Individuals frequenting the restaurant can dine-in or order for take-out.
