Zion Lutheran Church Slates Christmas Eve Service
FREWSBURG – Zion Lutheran Church will have two candlelight Christmas Eve services with Holy Communion at 7 and 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24. On Sunday, Dec. 28, the church will have its service of Lessons and Carols with Holy Communion at 10 a.m. with a Christmas Brunch following the service. There will be no Sunday school on Sunday. Zion Lutheran Church is located at 45 Falconer St., Frewsburg.
Tree Of Life Food Cupboard Closed Friday
The Tree of Life Food Cupboard, 825 Forest Ave., Jamestown, will be closed the day after Christmas, Dec. 26. Regular food cupboard hours are Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Kennedy First UMC To Host Christmas Dinner
KENNEDY – The traditional Christmas Day dinner at Kennedy First United Methodist Church will be held again this year on Christmas Day from noon to 2 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall. This dinner has been an annual event since 2008. The meal, which is open to all wanting to spend time and a meal with others, is invited to attend. The meal is provided by members of the congregation. This year’s hosts will be Chef Burke Lindquist and Michelle Swanson. This year take-outs are being offered, but diners are encouraged to stay to enjoy their meal with others and visit with others; perhaps catching up with friends or meeting someone new. There is no charge. The church does have a handicap entrance that opens directly into the fellowship hall. The church is located at 3594 Church St. in Kennedy directly across from the Town Hall and Post Office. For more information, call the church at 716-267-2645 and leave a message. First Lutheran Sunday Service Has Carols
The First Lutheran Church will have one combined worship service this coming Sunday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. in the church nave. There will be a celebratory Service of Lessons and Carols directed by Brian A. Bogey, Organist/Choirmaster. Familiar Christmas Carols will be interspersed with the scripture readings. The First Lutheran Choir will sing “A Christmas Lullaby/Away in a Manger” by Don Hustad. Liturgist will be Kimberly Larson; Lectors will include Brenda Ecklund, Fred Larson, and Jane Young; Hymn Cantor will be Julie Costantini. The public is welcome to attend.
Food Express Truck At Ashville UMC Today
ASHVILLE – The Mobile Pantry Truck from the Food Bank of WNY will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. to noon and 3 to 5 p.m. today, Dec. 23. To receive this free food proof of address showing the recipient lives at one of the following ZIP codes is required: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Greenhurst 14742, Lakewood 14750, Maple Springs 14756, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and the town of Busti. Recipients are also required to fill out a TEFAP and to bring their own boxes or bags to put food in.
