Cassadaga Valley School Board To Meet Today
SINCLAIRVILLE – The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board of Education will meet at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, in the district office conference room. The public is welcome to attend.
Bridge Closings Begin This Evening
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 over Chautauqua Lake between the towns of North Harmony and Ellery, Chautauqua County, will be closed to traffic in both directions from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. nightly beginning today and ending Saturday morning.
Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing State Route 394 and State Route 430.
City Planning Commission To Meet Aug. 19

SCOPE To Gather Aug. 19
MAYVILLE – S.C.O.P.E., the Shooters Committee on Political Education, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at VFW Post 8647, 10 Memorial Drive, Mayville. The group will discuss the topic “Defending the US Constitution and the Rights of All New York Gun Owners.” State S.C.O.P.E. President John Elwood, Treasurer Tom Reynolds and Second Vice President Jim Krywalski will speak at the “Right Thinkers” meeting in “The Hall,” 10 Fourth St., , Allegany. on Monday, Aug. 18. Doors open at 5 p.m. with panel discussion “Is Governor Hochul Coming To Take Our Guns?” The location is a 45 minute drive from Exit 12 on Interstate 86.
First Lutheran Church Community Store Open Aug. 19, Aug. 21
The First Lutheran Community Store, 120 Chandler St., Jamestown, is having a clothing bag sale for $3. The sale will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 19, and Thursday, Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those attending should use the awning door entrance.
Virtual Foster Parent Orientation Is Aug. 20
The Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene and Social Services’ Home Finding Team will host a virtual foster parent orientation on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The session, held entirely online, will give attendees a chance to learn about foster care and adoption programs available in Chautauqua County, meet members of the Home Finding Team, hear about the requirements and support available to foster families, and have an opportunity to ask questions.
