Sons Of
Revolution To Meet Saturday
STOCKTON – The Sons of the American Revolution will meet at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12 , at the Stockton Hotel. Subjects include the election of officers, and reports on upcoming events by Paul Fardink and Norman Carlson. After the meeting the group will go to the Floral Hall at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds to set up its historical display. All members are encouraged to attend, as well as interested DAR members and members of the public with an interest in the nation’s founding history.
Stockton Library To Kick Off
Summer Reading Program
Saturday
STOCKTON – The Mary E. Seymour Library in Stockton will kick off its summer reading program from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, with a free ice cream sundae event. Local resident and magician Gregg Unterberger will perform. Children and adults are encouraged to sign up for the library’s summer reading program and receive a bingo card to fill out and turn in for a prize drawing at the end of summer. Honky Tonk Heroes To
Perform Sunday
CASSADAGA – The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga is sponsoring the next performance of its Cassadaga Beach concerts Sunday, July 13. “Still Bill” Moran from Stockton will be playing classic folk and protest music of the 1960s and 1970s starting at 4 p.m. Sunday followed by the Honky Tonk Heroes from 5 to 7 p.m. playing honky tonk country dance hits. Band members are from Chautauqua County and include Dave Swart on drums, Bryan Moore on lead guitar and vocals, Matt Gronquist on fiddle and guitar, Matt Homan on bass and Tom Hodges on pedal steel guitar. The Beach Gazebo and the Floating Stage are both located on Cassadaga Beach on Park Avenue in Cassadaga. There is a playground, tetherball, beach volleyball, picnic tables and grills. Lifeguards will be on duty. Beach parking is limited. Those who are able are asked to park at the nearby church, library and fire hall. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the Cassadaga Fire Hall, 22 Mill St. or American Legion Post 1280, 228 Maple Ave. For more information, call 716-665-8855.
Area Authors At Chautauqua Book Fair
CHAUTAUQUA — Calling all bookworms. Don’t miss the Authors Among Us Book Fair on Sunday at Bestor Plaza on the grounds of Chautauqua Institution from noon to 2 p.m. Remember that Sundays are free admission days.
Area authors who will be on hand to discuss their publications include Fred Zirm, Deb Pines, Skip Halpern, Catherine D’Agostino, Clara Silverstein, Shahid Aziz, Judy Shuler, Marjorie Lyons, Craig Sipes, and Joan Wahl.
Myers Library Board To Meet July 15
FREWSBURG – The Myers Memorial Library in Frewsburg will have its board meeting on Tuesday, July 15, at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
