Hosting Active Transportation Week

The Chautauqua County Department of Planning and Development, in collaboration with the Chautauqua County Health Department and CHQ Transit is hosting its second annual Active Transportation Week from May 12-18.

Local residents are being encouraged to utilize the county’s public transportation system – CHQ Transit – or use an alternative mode of transportation other than their personal motor vehicle. A “Bingo Card” has been created to inspire creative ways to get moving throughout the week. Each day will also highlight a different “theme” with Friday, May 16, focusing on riding a bike to work or school. Bingo Cards, themes and event details will be added on the Chautauqua County Events page.

Jamestown School Board To Meet Tuesday

The Jamestown City School District Board of Education will hold a budget hearing at Persell Middle School on Tuesday, May 13, at 6 p.m. The hearing and a potential board executive session are the only items of business on the agenda.

Valley School District To Hold Budget Public Hearing

SINCLAIRVILLE – A budget hearing for the Board of Education of the Cassadaga Valley Central School District will be held on Tuesday, May 13, at 6 p.m. in the Middle/High School Multi-Purpose Room. The public is welcome to attend.

Prendergast Library Board To Meet May 15

The James Prendergast Library Board of Trustees will meet at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at the library. Board meetings are open to the public.

High Acres To Hold Yard Sale

The High Acres Fairdale Mobile Home Park Association will hold a community wide yard sale at 3133 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point in the High Acres Mobile Home Park. The dates are the May 16-18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. There will be a bake sale and hotdogs for lunch.

County Health Board To Meet May 15

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Board of Health will hold its quarterly meeting on Thursday, May 15, at 6 p.m. in the Hall R. Clothier Building in the fourth floor conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person. Members of the public may view the meeting live via the Chautauqua County Health Department’s YouTube channel.
