Fundraiser Set For Sunday

GERRY – A Bingo fundraiser will be held starting at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the Gerry Rodeo Grounds on Sunday, May 19. Doors open at noon. Attendees will play 10 games with prizes for every winner. This event is for people 18 years of age and older. The day is hosted by The Glass Half Full, a local nonprofit fundraising organization. Season’s First Coffee & Cars Event Is Sunday

The Chautauqua Lake Region Club of the Antique Automobile Club of America will host its first Coffee & Cars gathering for 2024 at the gazebo at McCrea Point on Jones and Gifford Ave., Jamestown, on Sunday from 9 to 11 a.m., rain or shine. The public is invited. All car enthusiasts are welcome.

Lander VFD To Host Barbecue Sunday

LANDER – The Lander Volunteer Fire Department will host a chicken barbecue from noon until sold out on Sunday. Meals can be eaten dine-in or take-out. A full dinner costs 412, a child-sized dinner costs $8 and a half-chicken only costs $8. Chicken is cooked over charcoal fire with the department’s signature basting sauce. Sides of potato salad, applesauce, roll, and dessert are included in the full dinner.

Allen Cemetery To Hold

Memorial Day Service Sunday

The Allen Cemetery will be holding its Memorial Day service on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony. The Allen Cemetery is located on Willard Street Extension.

AMVETS Post 726 Auxiliary To Serve Dinner Sunday

The AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 726 will be hosting a dinner on Sunday, May 19, from 3 to 6 p.m., or until sold out, at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. Proceeds will go to support residents at the VA Community Living Center. The ladies will be serving a choice of two dinners: ham or goulash. The meals include a vegetable and dessert. The cost of the dinner is $12 for adults and $5 for children ages six and under. The dinners may be eaten on site or take-outs are available. The club will have the bar area open at 3 p.m. The dinner is open to nonmembers also.

Outdoor Club To Kayak Sunday

On Sunday members of the Allegheny Outdoor CLub will kayak on the Marden Cobb Waterway. Those attending should meet at Musante Street in Warren at 1:30 p.m. The launch is on Falconer Road in Frewsburg. The group will paddle north for an hour and then return.

South Stockton-

Kabob Road To Close Monday

STOCKTON – County Route 71, South Stockton-Kabob Road, in Stockton between County Route 380 and Waterman Road will be closed to all traffic effective Monday while County Bridge 988 is replaced. A detour will be posted. This closure shall remain in effect until the replacement bridge is completed and detour signs are removed.
