Westfield Village Board To Meet Friday

The Westfield Village Board will have a brief meeting on Friday, June 30, at 4 p.m. in the North Room of Eason Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to set the public hearing date and time for a CDBG Grant application. The board is expected to hold the public hearing at their next meeting on Monday, July 17.

BPU Garbage/Recycling

Collection To

Be Delayed

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, in observance of the July 4 holiday. In addition, garbage and recycling will not be collected on Tuesday and collection will be delayed by one day the rest of the week. Monday customers will not be affected by the holiday shift. Tuesday’s garbage and recycling collection will take place on Wednesday, July 5. In the same way, Wednesday collection will be delayed until Thursday; Thursday collection will be moved to Friday; and Friday collection will take place on Saturday, July 8. Due to the changed collection schedule, the Yard Waste Site will not be open on Saturday, July 8. The Yard Waste Site, 1001 Monroe St., will be open for its regular 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 1, hours even though it is the July 4 holiday weekend. The site also is open from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays. For reports of trouble for all BPU Divisions during non-business hours, customers may call 716-661-1640. During regular business hours, such calls may be made to BPU Customer Service at 716-661-1660.

Special Sewer District Gathering Is July 5

MAYVILLE — There will be a special meeting of the board of directors for the North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District on Wednesday, July 5, at 11 a.m. to choose a financial advisory company. The meeting will be held at the North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District, 50 Clark St., Mayville. The meeting is open to the public.

Valley Historical Society Meets July 5

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Valley Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at the museum in Sinclairville. Note the different day because of the Fourth of July holiday. This month’s program will be “A Patriotic Moment.” Anyone interested in local history is invited to attend the meeting.

Advisor To Be At

Ellington Library

ELLINGTON — Rebecca Poynton, a Medicare advisor, will be at Ellington Farman Library from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, offering a free educational session for those just entering Medicare or those getting very close to the time where they will be aging into Medicare. She will cover many topics in her “Medicare 101; Your Plan Your Way” program. Poynton has also offered to host a session during the annual enrollment period where she can meet patrons at the library to review their plans.
