CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF
¯ DUNKIRK — At about 4:30 a.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on Central Avenue in the city of Dunkirk. The operator of the vehicle was identified as 20-year-old Harry L. Kaus. Further investigation found Kaus to be driving while intoxicated. Kaus was taken into custody for DWI and transported to Pomfret Substation for processing. Kaus was released with tickets to be in the City of Dunkirk Court later.
¯ NORTH HARMONY — At around 5:45 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County sheriff’s office responded to an address in the town for a reported altercation. An investigation found that Dale R, Tremblay Jr., 35, of Ashville, was in violation of two order of protections during the course of the altercation. Tremblay was charged with criminal contempt in the first degree, criminal contempt in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child, and harassment in the second degree. Tremblay was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Program.
¯ At around 2:40 a.m. Saturday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle in the town of Pomfret for an alleged traffic violation. The operator of the vehicle was identified as 33-year-old Naomi M. Rosas of Dunkirk. Further investigation revealed Rosas to be driving while intoxicated. Rosas was taken into custody for felony DWI, DWI Per Se, felony aggravated unlicensed operator in first degree, consumption of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle, operating out of ignition interlock restriction, unlicensed operator and speed in zone. Rosas was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail pending CAP arraignment and will answer the charges in the town of Pomfret Court at a later date.
¯ ELLERY — At 1:19 a.m. Friday, deputies, County EMS, Ellery Center, and Bemus Point Fire/EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident on Bemus-Ellery Road. in the town. Prior to the accident the vehicle left the roadway and struck the guard rail on the shoulder. The guard rail became lodged within the vehicle and the vehicle travelled over an embankment. Deputies and responding EMS/Fire personnel were able to extricate the two occupants from the vehicle without incident. Both occupants, 30-year-old Julian P. Buchinger and 29-year-old Sara B. Goff, both of Philadelphia, sustained injuries as a result of the accident. Both Buchinger and Goff were transported to UPMC Hamot for treatment and recovering in stable condition. Buchinger was issued tickets as a result of the accident. There were no further injuries as a result of this accident.

¯ RANDOLPH — Braydon Meacham, 22, of Main Street, Randolph was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Deputies allege that Meacham was involved in a domestic incident Dec. 29 in the town of Randolph where he caused property damage He was placed into custody, processed and released on an appearance ticket.
