Cornell — Shiffer

Melissa Nicole Shiffer and Thomas James Cornell exchanged wedding vows on Sept. 9, 2012, at Shadow Lake in Rochester, N.Y. Tina Klinek-Cornell, sister of the groom, performed the ceremony. Music was provided by Westside Quartette.

The bride is the daughter of Jeanie Shiffer of Jamestown, N.Y., and Steve and Janet Shiffer of Silver Spring, Md., and the granddaughter of Ethel Frangione of Jamestown, N.Y., and Helen Shiffer of St. Petersburg, Fla. Her husband is the son of George and Lois Cornell of Edinboro, Pa., and the grandson of Rose Kaufman of Palm Coast, Fla.

Angela Carpenter was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsay Turck and Ashley Nelson. Flower girl was Katherine Klinek-Cornell.

Groomsmen were Sathya Mey, Jarrett Hovland and Wyatt Brake. Ring bearer was Daniel Klinek-Cornell.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 2006 graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, graduating cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, and earned her doctor of physical therapy degree at Nazareth College in 2009. She is employed at Upstate Physical Therapy in Rochester, N.Y, as a physical therapist. Her husband is a 1999 graduate of Chautauqua Lake Central School, attended the State University of New York at Buffalo and graduated from Ohio Technical College in 2007 and BMWSTEP in 2008. He is employed by BMW of Rochester, N.Y., as a technician.

They will honeymoon on a Western Caribbean cruise in January 2013.
