JPS Excited To Welcome New Administrators

Jamestown Public Schools welcomes a few new faces to its family. New principals, assistant principals, and director and coordinator of student support services, are all excited to start the new school year to help students achieve their goals. Summer Literacy Program Declared Resounding Success

JPS LEAP (Learning Enrichment & Academic Progress) had an amazing summer with 396 Jamestown students entering the first though fourth grades this school year enjoying literacy learning and enrichment activities with three main partners, Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club of Jamestown (Lincoln Elementary School), YWCA (Fletcher & Bush Elementary Schools) and YMCA(Ring and Love Elementary Schools), who also brought into the schools a wide variety of community partners to provide enrichment opportunities. JPS Sends Thanks To Local Funders Of LEAP

Without the support of our local funders, the JPS LEAP Program would not be possible. Jamestown Public Schools would like to give a big thank you to: the Lenna Foundation, Ralph C. Sheldon Foundation, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, The Cummins Foundation, United Way of Southern Chautauqua County and the Jamestown Schools Promise Fund. Their assistance helped provide vital literacy education and enrichment activities for Jamestown children this summer. Community Partners Provide Enrichment Activities

“We had an amazing summer at our LEAP programs at Ring and Love Elementary Schools,” said Gina Bloomquist, YMCA School Age & Family director. “We are so proud to be a part of the goal to minimize the summer slide, not only in literacy but also in math.
