Brocton/Cassadaga Valley Slips Past Bears Late

BROCTON — A run in the bottom of the fifth inning broke a 2-2 tie as Brocton/Cassadaga Valley beat Frewsburg 3-2 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 baseball Monday. The Bulldogs’ (6-3, 5-1) Anthony Gatto led off the fifth with a walk and stole second with one out before scoring the go-ahead run on an error. DUNKIRK — Sydnee Hoffman shot 5-over at the par-36 course at Shorewood Country Club for the medalist honors in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association girls golf action Monday.
