To The Reader’s Forum: Elected leadership needs to recognize there are groups of our fellow citizens who feel the need to impose their own opinions, attitudes and views on everyone. Whatever the issue, these groups believe they have special knowledge and abilities that allow them to dominate their local, state or national community by requiring the solution to any problem reflect only their specific beliefs. Government Lacks The Courage To Do The Right Thing

Since January of this year, there have been 57 school shootings in America. And since August when many students began returning to school, there have been five already, including the deadly and tragic shooting in Minneapolis. There is a sign that continues to be proudly displayed on the front lawn of a house near Panama that reads, “God, Guns and Trump,” showing the cross, American flags and guns. To The Reader’s Forum: Well, the weekend (9-13/14-25) P-J is full of “bunk” from Cal Thomas and Armstrong Williams. Reading the headlines, “Presidential Authority Can Be Misused And Abused” and “America’s Public Health System In Desperate Need Of A Reset”, my initial reaction was that finally Trump and RFK Jr. would get criticized for their conduct. SCOTUS Giving The President Same Power As A King

To The Reader’s Forum: SCOTUS, (Supreme Court of the United States) actually only the Conservative majority, has granted Trump, essentially, unlimited power to do anything (even quasi-legal acts) as president as long as the acts are part of his official duties. Courts, from the District level to Appeals Courts, have ruled against Trump on various issues (ex. migrants, tariffs, firing federal employees, etc.) saying what Trump is doing is “illegal” and/or directly violating the Constitution (ex. “birthright citizenship”). Reader Disagrees With King, Kirk Comparisons

To The Reader’s Forum Randy Elf seems to feel Charles Kirk belongs in the same category as Martin Luther King, Jr. I beg to differ. King fought for civil rights. He was against violence. Mr. Elf praises Kirk for his faith. Kirk is quoted as saying that “stoning gay people is God’s perfect Law.” Didn’t Jesus say, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone?” Maybe I’m misunderstanding Mr. Elf’s position on this. To The Reader’s Forum: Mr. Langworthy and Mr. Borrello failed us all by not urging calm and restraint and by not withholding statements until all the facts were in regarding Charlie Kirk’s shooting death. Instead of waiting for facts and evidence they both immediately leveled politically charged accusations without knowing anything about the shooter or his motives.
