Microstamping Isn’t Likely To Work In New York, Either

To The Reader’s Forum: Microstamping did not work during the Pataki administration and it will not work now. Governor Pataki, a Republican, introduced and passed legislation mandating that any new handguns coming into New York state need a fired case provided by the factory. That was suppose to be the DNA of the firearm. Many manufacturers would not provide a fired case because it was added expense mixed with total nonsense. Writer Urges Federal Action On School Meals

To The Reader’s Forum: School districts across New York and the entire country are in jeopardy of losing crucial funding that allows all students to have equitable access to school meals. Without immediate action from Congress and the White House, school meals are in jeopardy and thousands of students are at a greater risk of hunger. Gun Violence Requires A Federal Approach

To The Reader’s Forum: According to the national organization “Gun Violence Archive” there have been at least 2,182 mass shootings in America since 2013, or at least roughly .65 per day. Others may disagree whether that number constitutes “a fact of life these days”, but I feel that a mass shooting that averages at least every other day meets that definition. Neighbors Should Give No Mow May A Chance To The Reader’s Forum: Weekends I help my old mom, on Walnut Street in Lakewood. This last weekend she was distressed to get an official note from the village regarding her lawn, more than 6 inches long — if not cut, penalties would ensue! Almost certainly this resulted from neighbors registering complaints. I am sorry they did not have the guts to come talk to us personally — I guess 99-year-old women are pretty scary.
