Salvatore “Sam” Armele
Salvatore “Sam” Armele, 79, of Jamestown, died Thursday, March 8, 2018, in UPMC Chautauqua WCA following a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 27, 1938, in Jamestown, a son of the late Sebastian and Clara Chiffin Armele.
He was a 1957 graduate of Jamestown High School.
Sam was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a communication expert in the U.S. Army from 1962-64.
He worked as a barber in California and Jamestown for many years.
He was a member of AMVETS, War Vets Recreation, American Legion, Eagles, Elks and Moose Lodges.
Surviving is a daughter, Lisa (Brian) Dalton of Jacksonville, Fla.; longtime companion, Carol Brosius of Jamestown; step-son, Anthony Brosius of Jamestown; grandchildren: Marie Pettit and Andrew Pettit both of Jacksonville and Justin Brosius and Alicia Brosius, both of Jamestown; and a brother, George (Jeannine) Armele of Jamestown.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Cordner Armele in 1970; a granddaughter, Toni Marie Brosius; and a brother James Armele.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. today in the funeral home.
