Woman accused of leaving dog in vehicle

CHAUTAUQUA – A Mayville woman has been arrested for allegedly leaving a pet in a hot vehicle. On Thursday at about 2:20 p.m. Sheriff's Deputies responded to Elmwood Road in the Town of Chautauqua for a report of a dog that was left in a vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies observed a dog that appeared to be very weak and dehydrated and was being attended to by residents of the community. It is alleged that 55-year-old Catherine Gatto had allegedly left the dog inside of a truck for an extended period of time. Ripley solar project gets approval from state

RIPLEY – The largest proposed solar project ever in Chautauqua County has gotten approval from the state. Gov. Kathy Hochul Wednesday announced executed contracts for 26 large-scale, land based renewable energy projects. Among the projects listed includes South Ripley Solar project as well as the York Run Solar Project. The South Ripley Solar Project is a 270-megawatt solar project in Ripley, while the York Run Solar Project is a 90-megawatt solar project in Busti and Kiantone. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Christopher E. Dellahoy, 36, of Jamestown was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. At approximately 7 a.m. Saturday, officers observed Dellahoy in the area of Broadhead Avenue and Kidder Street and knew that he had an active arrest warrant out of the city of Jamestown. He was taken into custody without incident and subsequent investigation found Chris to also be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine.
