Larry Charles Kelsey, age 76, of Jamestown, New York, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Born on Oct. 1, 1948, in Westfield, New York, he spent much of his life in Western New York and had been a resident of Jamestown in recent years.

Larry devoted more than two decades of his working life to the Dunkirk Ice Cream plant in Dunkirk, New York. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and quiet dedication throughout his years of employment.

Larry was the son of the late Ralph Kelsey and Mildred Timmerman.

He is survived by his children, including his son, Nathan Charles Kelsey, his daughter, Carrie Torrez, and his stepson, Philip Diers of Busti, New York. He is also survived by his siblings, Wayne Kelsey, Sheila Willis and her husband, Herb Willis, and Lorraine Meade and her husband, John Meade. Larry is further survived by his grandchildren, Dustin, Evelyn, Hazel, Amelia, Sierra, Brooke, Katelyn, Noah, Spencer, Mason, and Ava, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was the lifelong partner of the late Evelyn Diers, with whom he shared nearly four decades of companionship.

In accordance with Larry’s wishes, he will be cremated. No formal funeral services will be held. A private remembrance will be planned by the family at a later date.

Larry will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was a caring, loyal, and kind man who was always willing to help others whenever he could. He enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills and NASCAR racing.
